Pole-Mounted Switch Production Line

I. General Overview

Pole-mounted switches are critical switching devices in 10 kV overhead distribution networks, installed atop utility poles to perform line sectionalizing, interconnection, load switching, and fault isolation. Typical products (such as the ZW20 and ZW32 series outdoor pole-mounted vacuum circuit breakers) integrate vacuum interrupters, spring / permanent-magnet operating mechanisms, current transformers, isolating gaps, and intelligent controllers (FTUs) in either a common-tank or pole-column structure, with silicone-rubber composite bushings providing external insulation. Because these products operate outdoors for long periods, they must meet extremely high requirements for sealing performance, insulation levels, and mechanical endurance. Torque control during production, stroke adjustment, and factory testing directly determine product reliability; therefore, selecting a professional pole-mounted switch production line is essential to ensuring product quality.

This pole-mounted switch production line is a customized production line purpose-built for the final assembly and testing of pole-mounted switches . The line uses a floor-track conveyor system with workpiece pallets; each pallet is equipped with a rotary positioning table enabling multi-angle access to the workpiece. Every station is fitted with an HMI (human-machine interface) terminal for work instructions, parameter entry, and data traceability. An overhead KBK suspension crane system handles hoisting and transfer of the enclosure and large components. Full-line safety fencing and warning signs are provided, achieving a streamlined, standardized workflow from “enclosure loading – component assembly – complete-unit final assembly – factory testing – finished-product unloading.”

II. Assembly Process

The standard process flow of this pole-mounted switch line is as follows:
Enclosure Loading — The empty enclosure is hoisted by KBK onto a work pallet, positioned, and clamped. The pallet then moves sequentially along the floor track.
Main Current-Carrying Circuit Assembly — Install the vacuum interrupter, conductor rods, flexible connections, and contact system. Critical bolt torques are controlled and recorded per the process card.
Operating-Mechanism Assembly & Adjustment — Install the operating mechanism, adjust transmission linkages, and measure / verify opening/closing stroke and over-travel.
CT/PT & Secondary Assembly — Install current and potential transformers, lay out secondary wiring harnesses, and crimp aviation connectors.
Insulation-Component Assembly — Install insulating pull rods, silicone-rubber bushings, and isolating-gap components.
Sealing Treatment — Fit sealing rings and cover plates to complete enclosure sealing (SF₆ products include gas filling and leak detection).
Controller Assembly — Install the FTU intelligent controller and complete all wiring.
Factory Testing — Perform mechanical-characteristic tests (opening/closing time, simultaneity, speed), loop resistance, power-frequency withstand voltage, etc., with data automatically recorded.
Final Inspection & Off-Line — Visual inspection, nameplate marking, accessory check, hoisting off-line, and transfer to packaging.
